Lynn and Willie Itule opened their Phoenix wholesale produce business on April 15th, 1979. A lot has changed since then.

The facilities have transformed from a row of historic warehouse buildings in downtown Phoenix into an 80,000 square foot produce distribution facility. One avocado-green Datsun pickup has grown into a fleet of more than four dozen refrigerated trucks. You can easily spot them delivering fresh produce across Arizona. Rain or shine. Heat or cold.

The three Itule kids who learned to ride bikes in the old Jackson Street warehouse have grown and changed, too. Today, they’re leading the family business and teaching a third generation the rules of the road.

Willie and Lynn Itule launched their produce business on Tax Day 1979. They had one truck, good connections, and were ready to work hard.

More than four decades later, the husband-and-wife team has seen the fruits of their labors.

Today, Willie Itule Produce has a fleet of more than four dozen trucks delivering fresh wholesale produce across Arizona as a leading Arizona commercial produce supplier.
